Bud Billiken Parade
August 8 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

The oldest and largest African American parade in the country has stepped off in Bronzeville every August since 1929. Marching bands, drill teams, dance squads, floats, and local celebrities roll two miles down Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from 39th Street into Washington Park, where a family festival takes over the rest of the day. A back-to-school tradition, a homecoming, and a neighborhood celebration all at once β and it’s free.
