Chicago Air & Water Show

The Chicago Air & Water Show is the largest free show of its kind in the country, drawing well over a million people to the lakefront every August. Military jets, precision flying teams, parachute demonstrations, and daredevil stunts fill the sky over Lake Michigan — often headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels or Air Force Thunderbirds.

What to expect

• Best free views along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street
• Two full days of shows over the weekend

Good to know: North Ave Beach is the center, but the whole lakefront works. Free. Arrive early, bring sunscreen and ear protection for kids.
