Christkindlmarket, modeled on the centuries-old Christmas market in Nuremberg, Germany, opens at Daley Plaza on Friday, November 20, the same day as the city's tree lighting, and runs through Christmas Eve. This is its 30th season in Chicago.
Expect German food and drinks and holiday gifts from rows of vendor huts. It's free to walk in. The market also runs at Gallagher Way in Wrigleyville and at RiverEdge Park in Aurora.
