Día de los Muertos Workshops & Ofrenda Walk at Steelworkers Park

A free lakefront Día de los Muertos gathering where visitors add photos, keepsakes and flowers to community altars honoring loved ones, with stories, warm drinks and treats.

Steelworkers Park, on the old U.S. Steel South Works site at 87th Street and the lake, hosts a community Día de los Muertos morning. Bring a photo, a keepsake or flowers to add to the shared altars, take part in the workshops, and stay for stories and something warm to drink. It's free and open to all ages.

Note: the Park District lists the event as 10 AM to 1 PM, but its description also mentions a bonfire at dusk. Confirm the schedule with the park before you go.
