The Chicago Route respects copyright and expects everyone who posts on the Route to do the same. We respond to valid notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Designated Copyright Agent: The Chicago Route, Attn: Copyright Agent · Email: info@chicagoroute.com. Our agent registration with the U.S. Copyright Office is being completed; the full mailing address will be listed here.
Report content you own
For a quick report, tap ⚑ Report on the post and choose “Uses my photo or work (copyright).” For a formal DMCA notice, email our agent with:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- The copyrighted work you believe was infringed.
- The link to the material on the Route you want removed.
- Your name, address, phone number and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
When we receive a valid notice, we remove or disable the material quickly and let the person who posted it know.
Counter-notice
If your post was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send our agent a counter-notice with: your signature; the material that was removed and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district where the Route may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice. We forward valid counter-notices to the original complainant and may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers
We keep records of copyright removals. Accounts that repeatedly post infringing material will be suspended or closed.
Our own content
The Route uses its own photos, Route-made graphics, and images that businesses and organizers have given us permission to use. If you see your work here and didn’t give permission, tell us and we’ll take it down.
